The Leyton House CG901 is a Formula One racing car designed by Adrian Newey for the 1990 Formula One World Championship and was the last iteration of the March/Leyton House series of cars. It is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful Grand Prix cars of all time. Driven by Mauricio Gugelmin and Ivan Capelli in 1990, it made its debut at the San Marino Grand Prix. Chassis 02 is the sister car to 01 which led the French Grand Prix in 1990 and ultimately finished in second place, confirming the competitiveness of the CG901.
Unusually the car's bodywork has not been re-painted in its lifetime and has therefore acquired a beautiful ‘patina.’ Chassis 02 is fitted with a rebuilt Judd engine and has a large spares package available. A comprehensive file of historical data will accompany the car. The current owners are in contact with both Ivan Capelli and Race Engineer of the period, Tim Holloway who can be available for consultation if required.
